Looking for an editor but don't know where to start?
You've come to the right place.
What does an editor do?
Book editors help writers refine and polish their manuscripts. Depending on the level of services offered, an editor might offer advice on structure and plot, review a manuscript for inconsistencies and errors, or provide a final polish prior to submission or publication.
Do I need one?
Whether you need an editor depends on your goals. If you're self-publishing, an editor is always advisable. If you're submitting to an agent, an editor isn't essential, but can help you get your manuscript to the best version it can be. A word of caution: if your book is accepted to a publisher, they will have their own editors who will make new suggestions anyway, so think carefully about your options.
