Key information:

This class will teach students core revision skills in the lead up to their English Literature exams. With multiple texts to study, it can be hard to organise ideas. This session will focus on key skills essential to exam success.  

The aim:

Students will learn how to compile their notes, select the right quotes and revise in a logical manner. They will also learn how to memorise key information and put their knowledge into practice. 

The session will be divided into sections, starting with revision tips before moving onto exam expectations. Students will have the opportunity to share their ideas with others in the group.

  • Selecting relevant quotations

  • Making notes 

  • Memorising techniques  

  • Creating a revision timetable 

  • Practice papers 

  • What to expect in the exam

Key information:

These classes will teach students core revision skills in the lead up to their English Language exams. English Language can be hard to revise, but these sessions will show students how to revise for success. 

The aim: 

Students will learn how to find key words, structure answers and how much time to spend on each response. They will also learn how to fulfil assessment objectives based on mark schemes. 

Each session will focus on one essay question from the AQA language papers. With English Lanaguage, one of the best ways to revise is by doing past papers. 

Topics: 

Paper 1

  • Lesson 1: Question 2, language analysis

  • Lesson 2: Question 3, structural analysis

  • Lesson 3: Question 4, opinion writing

  • Lesson 4: Question 5, creative writing

 

Paper 2

  • Lesson 5: Question 2, comparisons 

  • Lesson 6: Question 3, language analysis  based on writer's viewpoints

  • Lesson 7, Question 4, in depth comparisons 

  • Lesson 8, Question 5, creative nonfiction

In addition to question techniques, students will study: 

  • Memorising techniques  

  • How to create a revision timetable 

  • Practice papers 

  • What to expect in the exam
